The Magnificent BEACHES of St. John
St. John's north shore beaches
seem like an incarnation of a tropical island fantasy. Soft white sand
extends into crystal clear turquoise waters. Colorful, living coral reef
fringe the rocky shoreline. Looking out toward the sea is a magnificent
view of tropical islands and cays with exotic, intriguing and romantic
sounding names. Inland are emerald colored mountain valleys which rise
from the shoreline to provide a perfect contrast to the clear blue skies
and white clouds above.
Coconut palms, sea grapes
and beach mahos line the edge of the beach. Ghost crabs scurry over the
wet sand and sea birds forage the coastal waters soaring through blue
Caribbean skies. It is no wonder that travel professionals and seasoned
tourists all seem to agree that the beaches of St. John are the Best in
the World.
Salomon and Honeymoon Bays
along with Caneel, Hawksnest, Jumbie, Trunk, Cinnamon, Maho and Francis
Bays make up these north shore gems.
